This piece didn't want to be one thing. I let it be both.
A cascade of oxidized sterling silver — reticulated, textured, layered — builds downward like architectural ruins, set with faceted red garnets that glow like embers caught in dark metal. At the bottom, suspended on hand-fabricated chain, a large jasper teardrop anchors the whole composition: cream and rust and deep amber swirling together in the stone's own map of itself. A small garnet nestled into the jasper face ties the two worlds together.
I constructed this as a statement brooch with a built-in bail so it converts to a pendant — wear it on a lapel, a coat, or suspended from a chain. The metalwork is fully hand-fabricated. No casting, no shortcuts.
