Lapis Lazuli & Brass Wave Brooch with Chain Tassel | Sterling Silver | Statement Brooch

This brooch came from a place of pure instinct — a raw slab of lapis lazuli so intensely blue it practically demanded to be worn.

The lapis is midnight blue, dense and textured with a rough-hewn surface that catches light differently depending on how it moves. It reads like a fragment of a stormy sky pressed into stone. I dug this raw slab up myself in the mountains near Crested Butte, Colorado — and that wildness still lives in it.

I fabricated the brass wave element by hand — shaping, cutting, and forming it into a fluid, ribbon-like form that threads through a sterling silver stick pin. The lapis slab hangs from the base of the wave, anchored with oxidized sterling wire coiling, which drops into a multi-strand sterling chain tassel tipped with midnight blue sandstone beads.
