I've been making hair picks for years — and I still get excited every time I set a stone this good into one.
This labradorite teardrop is deep midnight blue with that unmistakable flash — the kind that shifts as you move, alive in any light. Large, generous, set in a hand-fabricated fine silver bezel that holds it like it was always meant to be there. The pick is forged brass, warm gold-toned, with a gentle wave to the tines that makes it easy to slide in and stay put. I added a patina to bring out the depth in the metal — it won't get lost even under the longest hair.
Wear it in a bun, a twist, a braid — it works with everything and competes with nothing. And yes — it's better for your hair than an elastic.

Art In Motion Jewelry is handcrafted by artist Cheryl Whitney-Huebner. Every piece is entirely hand fabricated — created, photographed, and shipped by my hands alone. I do not mass produce. I use only the highest-quality materials, and you can expect slight natural variations in the raw metal. These are not imperfections — they are the soul of the piece.

Peace, Love, and Creativity — Cheryl
I’m Cheryl Whitney-Huebner, the artist and metalsmith behind Art In Motion Jewelry.
Each piece begins at my Texas workbench and is fabricated individually by hand. I allow the metal, stone and process to guide the final form, preserving the textures and subtle variations that give handmade work its life.
Metal is my medium. Life is my muse.
Some of my cabochons begin as rough stone and are cut, shaped and polished by me in my Texas studio. Other gemstones are individually sourced and selected for their natural color, character and distinctive markings.
Whether cut by my hands or carefully chosen, each stone guides the design of the one-of-a-kind piece created around it.
Natural variations and inclusions are not imperfections—they are part of the stone’s story.
Your jewelry is carefully protected and beautifully presented using recyclable, recycled or responsibly sourced packaging whenever possible.
Every package is prepared by hand with the same care given to the piece inside—
considering both its safe arrival and the impact of the materials used.
