Monarch Opal Dangle Earrings

I didn't plan on falling for Monarch opals. I ordered these stones on a whim — curious, a little skeptical — and the moment they arrived, I couldn't put them down. Each one holds a completely different world inside it: shifting blues, electric teals, flashes of violet that appear and disappear depending on the light. No two are the same. That's the thing about these stones — you think you understand them, and then the light changes and you're starting over. I'm officially addicted. These earrings are where that obsession began.

I set these extraordinary Monarch opals in a bold rectangular sterling silver bezel — the kind of setting that lets the stone do the talking. The opals themselves are a study in contradiction: deep teal and aqua shifting into flashes of violet and green, like looking into shallow water over a mosaic floor. No two are alike, and that's exactly the point.

The lever-back loops are 14k gold-filled, chosen deliberately to warm up the cool silver and let the opal's full color range breathe. Despite their presence, these earrings are surprisingly light — comfortable enough to wear from morning coffee to a late dinner without a second thought.
